Master Instructor - Master Julian Vasquez Jr.

Master Julian Vasquez Jr. is a Kukkiwon certified 5th Degree Master Instructor and is the head instructor of our Taekwondo program. Master Julian has been active in Taekwondo for over 20 years, and has earned numerous personal awards including 6 time Oklahoma state champion, and two time US Junior National champion. He also played soccer, track-field, and football during college.

Since beginning coaching the VTA olympic taekwondo sparring team 7 years ago, his atheletes have won an astonishing number of medals including: 220 Texas State Champions, 61 U.S. Olympic National Champions, 3 U.S. Back to Back  National Gold Medalist, and 6 U.S. International Champions. His athletes have also won numerous Senior Olympic National Champions, Collegiate National Champions, U.S. Open Champions and Canadian Open Champions. In 2003, one of his atheletes was named a McDonald’s recognizing athlete for being a U.S. Olympic Double Gold Medalist.

In June 2006, Julian was elected Lt. Governor for A.A.U. Taekwondo. He holds an associates degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, and a degree in Business and Marketing from the University of North Texas.

Senior Instructor - Dina Lopez 

Mrs. Lopez is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt in Taekwondo certified by the Kukkiwon. She also was recently certfied by USAT as a Level 1 Poomse Referee. She has been training and teaching at VTA for over 10 years. Ms. Lopez is also a high school teacher by training. She graduated from Texas Tech Univeristy with a degree in Spanish and French.

Prior to studying taekwondo, Mrs. Lopez spent many years studying and performing ballet.

Instructor - Isaac Lopez

Isaac Lopez is a 3rd Dan Blackbelt in Taekwondo certified by the Kukkiwon. He is a nationally ranked Taekwondo competitor has won numerous state and national Junior Olympic championships. Isaac will also be testing shortly for his Blackbelt in Haidong Gumdo

Instructor - Kyle DeRossett

Kyle DeRossett is a 2nd Dan Blackbelt in Taekwondo certified by the Kukkiwon. He has been a member of VTA for over 5 years. Kyle is also the assistant instructor of our Haidong Gumdo program where he has won first place at the recent US open.

Prior to studying martial arts, Kyle spent 6 years training in competitive gymnastics. He is also an active student of Parkour, the French art of movement. Kyle is currently studying for his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from CCCC.
