Instructor - Julian Vasquez Sr.
Master Julian Vasquez Sr. completing his certificiation as a 4th Dan Blackbelt through the World
Haidong Gumdo Federation through Grand Master Kim. He has a 30 year martial arts history that also
includes a 6th Dan Blackbelt in Taekwondo certified through the Kukkiwon. Master
Vasquez is the President of the Texas Haidong Gumdo Assocation and oversees the
Haidong Gumdo schools in Texas and the surrounding states. Master
Vasquez also actively teaches all Haidong Gumdo classes, and is involved in helping
grow the art in the United States.
Master Vasquez is also actively involved in the Korean Judo Kwan association
of martial arts schools. He is certified as a 6th Dan instructor through them,
as well as a 6th Dan instructor through the US Grand Masters society.

Assistant
Instructor - Kyle DeRossett
Kyle DeRossett is a certifed 1st Dan Blackbelt with the World Haidong
Gumdo Federation. Last year at the US Haidong Gumdo Open Championship, Kyle
tied for first place overall for forms. Kyle is also a 2nd Dan Blackbelt in
Taekwondo certified by the Kukkiwon, and is an instructor in our Taekwondo program. He has been a
member of VTA for over 6 years.
Prior to studying martial arts, Kyle spent 6 years training in
competitive gymnastics. He is also an active student of Parkour, the French
art of movement. Kyle is currently studying for his Bachelor of Science
degree in Biology from CCCC.
